LITTLETON, Colo. – A dog died Friday despite 30 minutes of life-saving efforts by firefighters after it was rescued from a truck submerged in Chatfield Reservoir.
Littleton firefighters responded to the callout about the submerged truck shortly after 12:30 p.m. The driver of the truck and one dog escaped safely from the truck.
Littleton Firefighters are on scene of a submerged truck at the north boat ramp at Chatfield State Park. The single occupant safely escaped without injuries. 1 dog also safely escaped, a second dog has been pulled out by divers, CPR in progress. Updates to follow. pic.twitter.com/w0EEgL5v4X

But a second dog was pulled out of the truck by divers. After about 30 minutes of CPR, firefighters were unable to revive the dog, Littleton Fire said.

They were working to pull the truck out of the reservoir Friday afternoon. It’s still unclear what led the truck to sink in the first place.
