Deputies: Suspect shot after firing at deputies in Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. – A suspect is in the hospital after being shot by deputies in an unincorporated area of Adams County Wednesday night.

Deputies said they received a call around 8 p.m. about a man, wanted for questioning on a felony charge, who had displayed a weapon. When deputies arrived, the suspect was gone.

Deputies then went to the suspect’s home about a block away, in the 7700 block of North Osage Street near North Pecos and El Paso Boulevard.

According to deputies, the suspect fired at the responding deputies, who then fired back. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital. An update on the suspect’s condition wasn’t available Thursday morning.

Deputies have not identified the suspect.
