DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. – A juvenile male who was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun was arrested Tuesday in the parking lot of a Douglas County high school, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Around 2 p.m., security at Chaparral High School near Parker contacted the sheriff’s office after the juvenile was spotted in the school’s parking lot acting in a suspicious nature.
A Douglas County Deputy arrived on scene and contacted the juvenile, who deputies say had to be physically restrained after resisting.
During a search of the suspect’s backpack, deputies say they found a loaded handgun which was reported stolen out of Pueblo. Deputies later learned the juvenile is not a current student at the school.
