DENVER — After an investigation, Denver's assistant deputy district attorney announced his official resignation Monday morning.
Assistant Deputy District Attorney Ryan Brackley, along with Denver District Attorney Beth McCann, agreed that it was in the best interest of the office for him to resign, according to a press release from the district attorney's office. This decision came in the wake of an personnel investigation.
According to The Denver Post, the investigation may have been connected to recent reports of bullying in the office.
His last official day is Aug. 2.
While trying to restructure job responsibilities, McCann said she decided it was best that Brackley leave the position, according to the press release.
“This decision was very difficult,” she said. “Ryan brought great value to the office in many ways, and he accomplished important and significant work for us and the city of Denver. I admire his passion, hard work, commitment to the office and considerable trial skills. I thank Ryan for his heartfelt and outstanding contributions to me, my administration, this office and to the city as a whole.”
In the mean time, Chief Deputy of the Behavioral Health Unit Helen Morgan will take over assistant district attorney responsibilities beginning this week.
