Denver7 and TheDenverChannel.com was awarded on Saturday the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow "Overall Excellence"award for 2020. This marks the second year in a row Denver7 was presented with this honor.

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) announced the honors in a virtual ceremony.

In 2019, Denver7 launched "Denver7 Gives" which is a fund of the Scripps Howard Foundation, allowing the audience to help our Colorado neighbors featured in Denver7 stories. To date, thousands of dollars have been raised to help a wide range of people in our state.

In 2018, Denver7 and TheDenverChannel.com launched “360 stories,” exploring multiple sides of topics that matter most to Coloradans, including news about growth and living in Our Colorado and results-based Contact7 consumer investigations that have righted wrongs for people across the state.

The National honor comes on the heels of 5 regional Murrow awards presented to Denver7 earlier in 2020. The news team won awards for large-market television in Region 3, which covers Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming

Denver7 was honored with regional Murrow Awards for Multimedia, Excellence in Social Media for “The Heart of Our Colorado,” Newscast for our “Shots Fired at Stem School,” and News Documentary for “Dying for Help: A Mental Health Crisis in Clear View.”
