DENVER – Denver set a new record high for Sept. 11 of 93 degrees Tuesday, breaking a 67-year-old record. The former record high for the day was 92 degrees, which was set in 1951, the National Weather Service in Boulder said. Denver tied its record high Monday as well.
High temperatures are expected to be in the 90s in the Denver area for much of the week. Wednesday’s record high temperature of 94 degrees could also fall. If it does, it would break a record set 107 years ago, in 1911.
Along with the heat, there are high winds forecasted through much of the week, meaning fire danger will be high across much of Colorado’s Front Range.
