DENVER — Police and FBI in Denver are searching for a missing 7-year-old boy.

Jordan Vong was last seen around 4:30 p.m. Monday in the area of Chambers Road and Bolling Drive, according to a Denver police missing child alert.

Marika Putnam with the police department said when officers arrived at the scene Monday, they learned the child had been missing for a few hours already. She said she doesn't believe he has a history of running away from home.

The FBI came in to assist with the search, she said.

Sometimes children think hiding from officers is a game, but officers will continue their search until they find Vong, she said. For the time being, she asked that neighbors look around their property to see if the child made his way to their residence.

On Tuesday afternoon, three law enforcement sources told Denver7 Chief Investigator Tony Kovaleski that police are seeking a search warrant to gain access to the family’s home as they believe there may be critical clues inside.

The child was wearing a shirt and gray sweatpants when he went missing.

Jordan is a 3-foot-7-inch Asian male with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs approximately 40 pounds.

Call Denver police at 720-913-2000 if you have information on his whereabouts.
