DENVER — Police in Denver say one man is in custody after officers found a man who had been fatally stabbed along S. Broadway Thursday evening.

The death investigation began shortly before 9 p.m. and then was updated to a homicide case around 11:30 p.m.

Police identified the man arrested as Allen Menendez, 47. He was arrested on an investigation of first-degree murder charge.

Police said this homicide is not related to the protests Thursday night demanding justice for George Floyd, a man who died while in the custody of Minnesota police this week.

Anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
