Denver named the second-best place to live in the United States

Posted

DENVER – The Mile High City continues to be one of the most desirable U.S. cities.

Denver came in second on this year’s list of the best places to live, according to U.S. News and World Report. Our fair city took the top spot on last year’s list, but that honors goes to Austin, Texas this time around.

U.S. News and World Report looks at five factors for its rankings: Desirability, value, job market, quality of life and net migration. Denver scored especially highly on desirability, job market and migration.

It’s just the latest report to find that Denver and Colorado as a whole are great places to live.

Other Western cities also made the list, including San Jose, Seattle and Salt Lake City.

Here are the top 10 cities, according to U.S. News and World Report:

  1. Austin, TX
  2. Denver, CO
  3. San Jose, CA
  4. Washington, DC
  5. Fayetteville, AR
  6. Seattle, WA
  7. Raleigh/Durham, NC
  8. Boston, MA
  9. Des Moines, IA
  10. Salt Lake City, UT
