DENVER - The Great American Beer Festival (GABF) has some competition. The Denver Beer Fest got things kicked off Thursday as Denver heads into a beer-heavy weekend.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock was joined by other officials Thursday morning at the Tivoli Brewing Company as they helped kick off the 8th annual festival.
The festival runs for nine days and coincides for a few days with The Great American Beer Festival, which starts Friday at the Colorado Convention Center.
The Denver Beer Fest features hundreds of beer-related events at area breweries, restaurants, tap houses and attractions. The GABF runs for only the weekend and is contained to the convention center.
