Just when you thought those golden, mini sponge cakes filled with cream couldn't get any more sweet, Hostess is going to fry, then freeze Twinkies to create Deep Fried Twinkies you can make at home.
Yes, the state fair treat can now be made at home -- in your oven, toaster oven or frying pan.
And if you've dreamed of chocolate Twinkies, you're in luck. Hostess is creating Deep Fried Twinkies in two flavors -- original golden and chocolate.
However, there is one catch. If you want the chocolate version, you'll have to shop at Walmart because Hostess has signed a deal to offer the chocolate flavor only at Walmart.
If you're thinking, I must have these and I must have them now, you'll have to wait until Monday. Deep Fried Twinkies go on sale Aug. 15.
If you're wondering just how calorie rich these new Twinkies are -- the answer is they have nine grams of fat and 220 calories per cake.
