The Denver Center for International Studies (DCIS) at Ford Elementary was put on lockout Monday afternoon as Denver Police searched for a suspect in the area.
Officers were searching the area of East 56th Avenue and Fairplay Street for a wanted person at about 2:30 p.m., said Raquel Lopez, spokesperson for the Denver Police Department.
No one is allowed in or out of the school while it is on lockout, but classes and activities continue as usual inside.
There was no update from the school district or police as of 5:45 p.m. We are working to confirm more information.
