Dave Chappelle and Jon Stewart are making good on their promise to turn a handful of co-headlining dates into a national tour.
The stand-ups and actors, best known from Comedy Central’s “Chappelle’s Show” and “The Daily Show,” respectively, will play Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Aug. 9, promoter Live Nation announced this morning.
“It’s so hard for us to line up our schedules sometimes, but we’re really hoping we can bang out some of these dates and then put together something a little more extensive,” Stewart told The Denver Post last year, just before visiting Colorado Springs to kick off The Warrior Games, an athletic competition for wounded military veterans.
“We’d love to do a variety of places — holes in the wall to larger venues — and just play around with it,” he said. “We want to do our own stuff but also some stuff together on stage. We’re trying to figure it out right now, but I’m sure it’s going to happen.”
It’s happening. Tickets for the Aug. 9 Red Rocks show will cost $69.75-$169.75 and go on sale through axs.com or by calling 888-929-7849. A “registered fan” pre-sale starts at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, while any leftovers are on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22.
