The Denver District Attorney's Office has formally charged a woman accused of making a false claim of sexual assault against a man earlier this year.
Jasmine Burlingame, 26, is charged with misdemeanor false reporting and two felony counts of attempt to influence a public servant.
Burlingame reported being sexually assaulted in February, and identified a 32-year-old man as her attacker. The charges allege that Burlingame continued to claim she was assaulted by the man even after DNA evidence was developed that excluded him as a suspect.
Burlingame has been released from custody on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond. She is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Sept. 28 to be formally advised of the charges.
