BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. – A Boulder cyclist was critically injured after apparently colliding with a deer in an unincorporated area of the county Saturday morning, officials said.
The 60-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. An off-duty firefighter found the woman unconscious about 8:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Sunshine Canyon Drive, west of Boulder. Evidence at the scene led investigators to believe that the cyclist crashed after colliding with a deer, the sheriff's office said.
No vehicles appeared to be involved in the crash.
