DENVER – A cyclist died Friday afternoon after he was hit by an RTD A-Line train in northeast Denver.

Denver police said that the cyclist, an adult male, is believed to have crossed the tracks against the signals when he was hit by the train near Quebec Street and Smith Road in the Northeast Park Hill neighborhood.

Police originally said that the cyclist had been seriously injured and later said he had died.

Shuttle buses were running instead of the A Line between Central Park Station and the 40th and Colorado Station Friday afternoon. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
