DENVER -- Two of Colorado's most beloved mascots took to the slopes this weekend for the 3rd Annual Steamboat Mascot Stampede.
CSU's Cam and CU's Chip were among the 20 participants, competing in ski biking, tug of war, obstacle courses and more.

While both of Colorado's mascots had respectable performances, they both lost to University of Nevada’s Alphie.
Colleges from BYU all the way to Texas and North Carolina also competed, a spokesperson for Steamboat Ski told Denver7.
The purpose of the competition is to offer fans an opportunity to meet the mascots and give them an event to look forward to early in the ski season. Mascots can also learn new ways to rile up the crowds at home.
