Crews battling 7.5-acre fire in Roosevelt National Forest

ROOSEVELT NATIONAL FOREST, Colo. – Firefighters were still battling a 7.5-acre fire in the Roosevelt National Forest in northern Colorado on Thursday, officials said.

The Beaver Fire was relatively quiet overnight and producing little smoke, Forest Service spokesperson Reghan Cloudman said.

The fire broke out Tuesday off Pingree Park Road, about a mile and a half east of the Colorado State University Mountain campus.

On Thursday, 46 firefighters were battling the fire. Officials warned about an uptick in traffic along Pingree Park Road over the holiday weekend, as crews continuing working the fire.
