CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – When was the last time you heard of a ski resort closing because it had too much snow?
That’s exactly what happened Monday at Crested Butte Mountain Resort which had to close out of “safety concern” for its guests and employees following another 2 feet of snow that fell since Sunday morning.
The ski area got nearly 4 feet of snow in a storm last week, and it hardly slowed down over the weekend.
The ski resort says its crews will be working through the evening to try and be ready to open Tuesday.
