DENVER — A crash early Thursday morning closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 25 at 6th Avenue for a couple of hours.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at 1:59 a.m. near Santa Fe, said Kurt Barnes with the Denver Police Department. Two people had serious injuries, he said.
Police shut down all southbound lanes of I-25 at 3:40 a.m. to investigate.
The interstate reopened shortly after 5 a.m.
I can see some backups now as SB 25 drivers are waiting at the light at Federal. I would go north to 8th then back east, over 25 to Kalamath then take a right all the way past Alameda and then join SB 25. pic.twitter.com/XzSb6qGZYu
