ERIE, Colo. – A Colorado veterinarian is raising money to study the impacts of fracking on pets.

Jennifer Fick of Erie says that fracking released “volatile organic compounds,” and because dogs often spend more time outside than humans, they’re more likely to be exposed to these compounds.

Fick is hoping to raise $25,000 through GoFundMe to fund her research. As of Wednesday morning, she’d raised about $2,000.
