Colorado Springs police searching for suspect in shooting that left 1 with life-threatening injuries

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — One man has life-threatening injuries following a shooting early Thursday in Colorado Springs.

Around 5:22 a.m. Wednesday, the Colorado Springs Police Department received multiple reports of a shooting along the 4300 block of E. Fountain Boulevard.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man in the middle of the road with multiple gunshot wounds. Police said his injuries are life-threatening. He was transported to a hospital.

According to a preliminary investigation, police said they believe the man had been at a gas station in the area when some sort of altercation erupted with another man, which led to the shooting.

The suspect fled from the scene.

Police said they believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.

The area around the crime scene will remain closed for several hours for the investigation.
