Colorado Springs Airport closed following three-alarm fire

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado Springs Airport will be closed Tuesday as crews assess the damage from a three-alarm fire that broke out overnight.

Firefighters said the fire broke out on the airport’s roof late Monday. There were no reports of injuries.

Airport officials said that while workers assess the safety of the facility and the damage caused, the airport will remain closed. 

Passenger with scheduled flights can contact their airline for more information or to reschedule.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The airport will reopen early Wednesday morning.
