DENVER — It's a good week to be socially distant.
After an earlier round of snow this week, a second storm Wednesday brought heavier amounts across the Front Range and broke a 111-year-old record in the process. That would be Boulder's snowiest season ever, topping 1908-09's 142.9 inches.
Boulder, where more than 13 inches fell since Wednesday, was at 145.9 inches for the season at last check Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Denver saw about a foot of snow downtown and up to 10 inches across the metro area. And more snow was expected throughout the morning, with about five more inches expected in Boulder and three in Denver, with higher amounts into the high country near Estes Park.
