DENVER — We've already seen one of Denver's snowiest Februarys of all time this year, and we'll likely add to that total by the end of the month.
Light snow was starting across the metro on Sunday morning. The National Weather Service had lessened the snowfall projection for Denver, calling for about an inch through Sunday night, but heavier snow was expected toward the Palmer Divide, in the Castle Rock area, where 3-6 inches could fall
Other totals across the metro could range from 1-4 inches.
Here's the latest snowfall projections, via the National Weather Service.
For Denver, it won't take much snow to jump into the city's top five ranking of snowiest Februarys ever. We're currently at 11th all-time, at 16.5 inches of snow. Two inches would put Denver at 18.5 inches, good for 5th all-time, and if the storm over-performs, exceeding the third-snowiest mark of 20.2 inches isn't out of the question.
With Wednesday's snowfall, Denver's February snowfall has moved into a tie for 11th place, as far as, snowiest February's. #cowx pic.twitter.com/xJClFUlGDj
