LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The hail-damaged Colorado Mills mall will be back open to shoppers before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
The mall had originally said it was aiming to reopen for Black Friday and Simon Property Group, the mall’s owner, said Colorado Mills would reopen at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Restoration crews have been working for months to get the building back into working order following a hail storm in May that damaged skylights and led to extensive flooding.
The mall said more than 100 stores and restaurants will be open for the Nov. 21 reopening date. More stores are expected to open in early 2018.
Work on common areas will be ongoing during evening hours through the beginning part of next year.
