A K-9 named Dax is being credited with stopping a wanted man from escaping out a home's back window.

Police were looking for Ronald Rhoades on multiple warrants, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

They believed he was in a home in the 2400 block of Lafayette Road.

Officers knocked on the door around 10:21 p.m. Thursday night and talked with a woman who said the wanted man was not home.

While the officers were talking with the woman, the suspect was trying to escape out the home's rear window, according to police.

The K-9 was waiting and stopped Rhoades from escaping.

He was arrested and taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The woman who is identified as Lisa Hodgkins was also arrested. She is accused of  aiding a fugitive.
