DENVER – Colorado’s economy shows no sign of slowing down.

According to the Labor Department, Colorado’s unemployment rate reached 2.3 percent last month, the lowest in the nation. That is also the lowest jobless rate reported in the state since 1976.

Solid hiring in Colorado’s fast-growing economy led to the record numbers.

Rates also declined in nine other states, increased in one and held relatively stable in the other 39. A significant number of the job gains occurred in nine states, led by Texas, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Indiana was the only state to see a significant decrease in jobs last month.
