ARVADA, Colo. — Donors in Colorado reached into their pockets yesterday and made Colorado Gives Day the state’s largest day of giving.
About $35.1 million was donated to 2,481 nonprofits in 24 hours on Tuesday.
This 24-hour statewide movement celebrates philanthropy while increasing its visibility in Colorado through online giving at www.ColoradoGives.org. This website is open year-round and welcomes online giving to more than 2,500 nonprofits.
Since Colorado Gives Day’s inception in 2010, donors have raised more than $217 million to Colorado nonprofits.
This year, residents have offered up more than 157,700 donations ranging from $10 to $250,000.
“Colorado Gives Day has once again proven that Coloradans are committed to the vital nonprofits that support the fabric of our community,” said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “I want to thank the extraordinary donors that celebrated Colorado Gives Day with us and the nonprofits that make Colorado a better place to live.”
Colorado Gives Day is presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank.
