BOULDER, Colo. – University of Colorado football coach Mike MacIntyre has been named Pac-12 Coach of the Year, and two Buffs players earned first-team all-conference honors.

MacIntyre, in his fourth season coaching the Buffs after he spent two years coaching San Jose State, has led Colorado to a 10-2 overall record and an 8-1 conference record.

CU sealed the Pac-12 South title with a win over Utah Saturday and will face Washington for the Pac-12 title.

They are ranked in the top-10 in the BCS rankings and could end up in the BCS Playoff if they beat the Huskies.

MacIntyre is the first CU coach to win coach of the year since Gary Barnett did so in 2004.

Outside linebacker Jimmie Gilbert was named to the All-Pac-12 first-team after finishing third in the conference in sacks. Ryan Moeller earned a first-team selection as special teams player.

Chidobe Awuzie, Tedric Thompson, Ahkello Witherspoon, Phillip Lindsay and Jeromy Irwin all earned second-team honors.

And nine Buffaloes earned honorable mention honors from the conference: Bryce Bobo, Jordan Carrell, Shay Fields Jr., Alex Kelley, Gerrard Kough, Sefo Liufau, Kenneth Olugbode, Devin Ross and Josh Tupou.

The Buffs square off with Washington in the Pac-12 Championship at 7 p.m. Friday.
