WASHINGTON COUNTY, Colo. — Murder charges have been filed against a man accused of shooting and killing his son during an argument in Washington County just days ago.
Police say Stanley Laybourn shot and killed Leyton Laybourn, 31, after an argument that turned physical on County Road 5 on Sunday evening.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation, local police and the 13th Judicial District Attorney's Office set to work, gathering evidence and charging Laybourn with second-degree murder.
Laybourn is being held on $250,000 bail while police continue to grow the investigation against him.
A pending gag order by a judge has prevented police from issuing additional details on the investigation.
