DENVER -- A Denver-area doctor convicted of secretly filming young boys during medical exams was sentenced to federal prison, United States Attorney Jason R. Dunn announced Tuesday.
Dr. Justin Neisler, 32, of Denver, was sentenced to serve 23 years in federal prison, followed by 10 years in supervised release for the production of child pornography.
Neisler pleaded guilty June 4 to the charges and was facing up to 30 years in prison.
Authorities began investigating Neisler after receiving a tip that the doctor was uploading child pornography to a social media website between October 2018 and December 2018.
Agents searched Neisler's home in March 2019 and found child pornography on his cell phone and other devices, including about 6,600 images and 1,725 videos that he got from the internet.
Court documents showed “that during some of Dr. Neisler’s medical examinations of young boys, he secretly video recorded them while they were undressed and without their knowledge, using a Spy Pen Camera and his iPhone. Dr. Neisler would then watch those videos at home for his own gratification. During the investigation and prosecution, the victims were identified and interviewed to make certain that no other hands-on offenses occurred.”
Neisler was licensed to practice medicine in Georgia and Colorado and records listed his place of practice as St. Anthony Family Medicine, located on the North Health Campus in Westminster.
Wendy Forbes, a spokesperson for Centura Health, which operates St. Anthony's, said in a statement in March that Neisler was fired after his arrest.
Neisler was also ordered to pay $10,100 in assessments to the court and into funds set up to assist victims of child exploitation crimes.
