DENVER — Colorado Parks and Wildlife is sending out a reminder, for anyone who lives near wildlife: Take down netting, hammocks or anything else animals might get caught up in.

CPW officials reported two incidents this week deer getting their antlers caught in netting. A buck in Colorado Springs got tangled up in a hammock on Tuesday. Officers used a stun gun to immobilize the animal and free it from the hammock.

The buck recovered and ran away.

On Wednesday, CPW said a buck near Ken Caryl was seen with netting tangled in its antlers. Since the netting wasn't wrapped around the buck's neck or nose, CPW officers let the animal go. Bucks are close to shedding their antlers this time of year, and CPW said intervening could cause more harm than good.
