GOLDEN, Colo. – Two of the biggest names in online home improvement referrals are joining forces to create a new company.
IAC – the parent company of Golden-based HomeAdvisor – announced Monday that the HomeAdvisor brand will be merging with Angie’s List.
The new company will be called ANGI Homeservices Inc. and will be headquartered at HomeAdvisor’s offices in Golden. The company will maintain HomeAdvisor and Angie’s List as separate brands.
HomeAdvisor CEO Chris Terrill will take on the role of CEO at the new company.
HomeAdvisor and Angie’s List both provide a platform for homeowners to find, hire and review contractors and other professionals. By joining forces, the two companies hope to more efficiently take on the growing market.
“Both Angie’s List and HomeAdvisor have built impressive businesses based on delivering homeowners and home service professionals incredible value,” Terrill said in a news release. “By combining HomeAdvisor and Angie’s List’s complementary strengths, the combined company will be able to leverage its joint models and resources to not only accelerate market penetration, but also continued online conversion of that marketplace.”
The boards of directors of both companies have already signed off on the merger, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2017.
IAC also owns major brands like About.com, Dictionary.com, CollegeHumor, Vimeo and The Daily Beast.
