MORRISON, Colo. — The Colorado 9/11 Stair Climb will host its 10th annual event at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Tuesday.
Tuesday marks the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 attack. This memorial stair climb serves to honor and remember the 343 FDNY firefighters and almost 3,000 Americans who died that day.
Each person who participants in the stair climb will walk up the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. At Red Rocks, that equals nine laps around the amphitheater.

The event begins at 7 a.m. Tuesday with on-site registration, followed by a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. The climb starts at 9:03 a.m. and runs until noon.
Last year, men, women, children and firefighters in full gear participated.
This stair climb is one of 40 that are held around the world on Sept. 11. The one in Red Rocks is the largest in the country. The event raises funds for FDNY Counseling Services Unit and programs provided by National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
