DENVER — Goosebumps were a common feeling in the Denver metro area on Tuesday morning as Coloradans woke up to the coldest morning of the season, brought on by a cold front that hastily ushered summer weather away.
At a chilly 34 degrees in some areas, snow could have fallen in the Denver metro if precipitation was present. It wasn't, but many are now asking the question of when the first flakes will fly in the metro area.
The answer is complicated. According to Denver7's First Alert Meteorologists, it's nearly guaranteed that snow will fall between now and Nov. 15, but the average first measurable snowfall date is Oct. 18.
Meteorologist Lisa Hidalgo said Tuesday the first snowfall is likely to happen close to that date given how cold Colorado has been to start the month of October. All that's left to do is wait!
