BOULDER COUNTY — Boulder authorities are investigating a man's death near the First Flatiron.

Shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday, the Boulder County Communications Center received a call about climbers who had found a man's body northwest of the First Flatiron.

The body was found on a ridge at the Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks property near Chautauqua Park, the sheriff's office said.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder County Coroner’s Office and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group responded to the scene, where they found a 32-year-old deceased male.

Climbing access to the First Flatiron will remain closed while first responders investigate and recover the body.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death. Foul play was not suspected as of Thursday afternoon.
