Small fire closes Westminster High School

Posted

WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- High school students in Westminster will get an early start to the weekend.

A small fire in a garden-level classroom prompted officials to close Westminster High School Thursday. Friday was already a scheduled teacher exchange day, so students will get a four-day weekend.

The small computer fire broke out Wednesday night. Although no one was injured and there was minimal damage, officials were concerned about the lingering fumes in the building.

Classes are expected to resume Monday.
