JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. -- A child sex assault suspect shot in a gun battle with police in June died in the Jefferson County jail Tuesday.
Authorities said 40-year-old David Little was found non-responsive with a ligature around his neck in his cell.
"Sheriff’s deputies immediately began administering CPR and called for additional medical assistance," according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. "Medical staff continued CPR until Little was pronounced dead on scene at 5:28 p.m."
Little was being held on sexual assault of a child, attempted assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of attempted first degree murder, and first degree murder charges, deputies said.
Deputies said Little's death is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office.
