GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — An 8-year-old child has died in an apparent fall on a popular trail in Colorado.
Garfield County Coroner Robert Glassmire says the incident occurred around 4 p.m. Monday at the top of Hanging Lake Trail, about 10 miles east of Glenwood Springs. Glassmire said the boy was walking on some rocks near the waterfall when he slipped, fell and hit his head.
Glassmire would not release information about the child, other than to say that the child was from the Front Range and was hiking with family at the time.
Editor's note: This story corrects an earlier version that listed the boy's age as 9.
