CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Castle Rock Parkway has opened, giving drivers a new way to access and exit Interstate 25.

The two-mile road connects I-25 and Highway 85, north of the Outlets at Castle Rock and the Promenade.

Castle Rock officials issued a few tips for drivers using the new road:

  • The speed limit is 35 mph.
  • At U.S. 85, there is a full interchange, so drivers can access both directions of the highway and Castle Rock Parkway. It’s controlled by one signal span. Follow the signs and striping.
  • At I-25, a roundabout gives drivers access to all direction. Yield to traffic already in the circle.

"The project is the Town’s largest transportation project ever, and the Town didn’t do it alone," Castle Rock town officials said. "The road is a partnership among the Town, Douglas County and the Colorado Department of Transportation."

Construction began nearly three years ago, in October 2013.
