THORNTON, Colo. – Four people connected to an early-morning carjacking were taken to the hospital after a police maneuver caused the stolen vehicle they were in to roll over on an I-25 off-ramp.

Police said the vehicle was connected to a carjacking around 1 a.m. on Mississippi Avenue in Denver. The details of the carjacking weren't immediately clear.

Thornton police officers caught up with the SUV at I-25 and Thornton Parkway, where officers executed a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle on the off-ramp.

The SUV rolled over and all four people inside were taken to the hospital. Updates on their conditions weren’t available Friday morning.

The crash closed the northbound lanes of I-25 for several hours but traffic was moving again by 4 a.m.
