Car was going 120 mph on I-225 before fatal crash, police say

AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora are investigating a high speed, single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 225 that left one woman dead and two people injured early Sunday morning.

It happened around 12:51 a.m. on the southbound lanes of I-225, just south of East Colfax Avenue.

Police said the 2005 Subaru WRX was going 120 mph down the interstate when the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle. All three occupants of the vehicle, who police said were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected.

The three adult occupants were transported to the hospital, where one woman, who has yet to be identified, succumbed to her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Aurora Police Traffic Investigations Unit. Anyone who witnessed this crash is asked to call police at 720-432-5095.
