A brush fire burned approximately 1,500 acres in Elbert County, the Elbert County Sheriff's Office confirmed.

Multiples agencies worked together to put out the blaze, which was burning on I-70 and County Road 162, near milepost 343, which is just south of Agate.

AIRTRACKER7 flew near the scene of the fire, where smoke and flames could be visible. At one point during the fire, two ends of the blaze merged together and became one.

The fire was contained at about 4:13 p.m., officials with the Office of Emergency Management in Elbert County tweeted.
