Broomfield police say an officer shot and wounded a bank robbery suspect on Friday.
Broomfield police Sgt. D.P. Walts tells The Denver Post the officer exchanged gunfire with the suspect at 3:33 p.m., minutes after a report of a robbery in progress at a TCF Bank.
Police say an officer saw a white truck that matched the description of the vehicle the suspect fled in after the robbery. The vehicle stopped and that's when the gunfire exchange happened, but Walts says he doesn't know who shot first, or if the officer had stopped the vehicle or if it had stopped on its own.
Walts said the officer was not injured but the suspect was taken to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
