An armed bank robbery suspect shot by Broomfield Police died on Friday.
The Adams County Coroner's Office announced this, as well as the suspect's identity on Tuesday. Phillip Pfleghardt's cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. Pfleghardt, 44, lived in Golden.
Officers were originally dispatched to a robbery call at a TCF Bank on Friday afternoon.
They saw a truck matching the suspect vehicle's description nearby on W. 144th Street.
According to a press release from Broomfield Police, Pfleghardt fired first, and the officer fired back.
The officer, who wasn't hit, hasn't been identified.
