BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A Broomfield High School teacher will resign as the head coach of the school’s softball team after an allegation of misconduct forced the district to place the teacher on administrative leave.

In a letter emailed to parents Friday, the district said Paula Seifried will return to the classroom Monday but has resigned from her coaching position.

Broomfield police declined to pursue criminal charges against Seifriedafter the allegation came to surface last week. However, the Boulder Valley School District resumed its own investigation this week, concluding with the email to parents.

Broomfield police said the report that detailed the allegations and led to the police investigation was not available.

The school’s website said Seifried has been with the district for seven years. In a letter to parents, school officials said they are working to hire a new interim coach for the remainder of the season.
