Brighton man dies after crashing motorcycle into SUV

A 20-year-old man from Brighton died after running a red light and crashing his motorcycle into an SUV, according to police.

Asael Sifuentes-Reyes crashed a Yamaha YZFR1 into a silver Toyota 4-Runner at Bromley Lane and South 48th Avenue just before 11 a.m. Saturday, the Brighton Police Department said in a statement.

The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the SUV and Sifuentes-Reyes went through the rear passenger window and into the back seat, investigators stated.

An 8-year-old boy in the front seat was covered with glass, according to the statement.

The boy and his mother, Jenifer Bryant from Aurora, were rushed to the hospital, investigators stated. No information was released about the extent of their injuries.

Sifuentes-Reyes was airlifted to a hospital in the Denver area, where he later died. Investigators said he was wearing a helmet. They do not believe he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
