BOULDER, Colo. -- Joseph Lomujalamoi, 32, stood puzzled as to why he was pulled out of the Outback Saloon abruptly by a Boulder Police officer.
Boulder Police were looking for a sexual assault suspect that they say matched Lomujalmoi’s description.
They say the 911 call described the suspect as a bald, 5-feet-11-inch tall black male, wearing a grey tank top and playing darts.
Despite the police report written by the officer indicating the bouncer had told him the suspect had fled, the officer still asked Lomujalmoi to step outside.
Boulder police say this was not a case of racial profiling, because the description matched that of Lomujalmois.
"We were within our rights to bring the gentlemen outside and further contact him, because the victim was still there. We were immediately able to do a line-up and determine if that was the person or not,” Boulder Police Spokesperson Shannon Cordingly said.
During the interaction, Lomujalmoi asked for the officer's card and later filed a complaint with Boulder Police.
Boulder Police will not discipline the officer involved in the incident.
