Boulder man, 19, arrested on attempted murder charge after police find injured woman

BOULDER, Colo. — A 19-year-old man has been arrested on an attempted murder charge after his father reported that he believed he was involved in a domestic incident.

On Sunday around 10 a.m., a father called the Boulder Police Department to report that he believed his son was involved in a domestic disturbance that was happening at the time. He told police he believed his son was in a home along the 900 block of Euclid Avenue.

When police arrived at the residence, a woman opened the door. Police said she had "obvious injuries to her neck and face." She was transported to Boulder Community Health.

The suspect, who was identified as 19-year-old John Richter, surrendered to police. He was arrested on charges of first-degree assault, attempted second-degree murder, false imprisonment and other charges.
